NAACPMYCÂ 2nd ANNUAL JUNETEENTH FREEDOM DAY CELEBRATION
Media, PA. – NAACP Media Youth Council is sponsoring the 2nd Annual Juneteenth Freedom Day Celebration in partnership with the Borough of Media, PA and the Heritage Park Committee to commemorate the emancipation of enslaved African Americans in the US and celebrate the rich history and traditions of the African Americans in the Media, PA area on Saturday, June 17. The event will be held from 12:00 to 3:00pm at Heritage Park at 5th and Broomall Streets in Media, Pennsylvania in Delaware County. This is a free event.
The celebration will be a fun-filled afternoon for all ages which will include performances, trivia, craft activities, local community organizations and powerful words from our local community leaders including PA State Representative, Jennifer O’Mara as well as others.
There will be a special tribute in memoriam of the late Reverend Warren D. Mays, Sr. of Second Baptist Church of Media and our adult chapter, the NAACP Media Area Branch, will be acknowledging the 2023 NAACP Media Area Branch’s Junior and Senior High School Scholarship recipients at this event.
